Quality grapes of São Jorge vineyards, North Coast of the Island. The must was obtained through foot treading.

Ricardo Diogo’s Mother, Manuela Vasconcelos, started working with his grandfather, Mário Barbeito, in the 70s. In 1989, he joined her and together they started a new chapter at Vinhos Barbeito. Since Malvasia was her favourite wine, he decided to make this ‘’Mãe Manuela’’ blend in her honor. He has carefully chosen wines aged for over 40 years and other much older Malvasias, some from his mother’s and some from his grandfather’s private collection. In July 2013, 1050 bottles were filled, all individually numbered.

SERVING & CELLARAGE
Decanting is recommended, served best at 14oC or low room temperature 16oC. This wine was bottled ready for drinking and It will last & maintain in good condition several months once opened.
TASTING NOTES AND HARMONIES
Old gold color.
Aroma of raisins, fig jam, cotton candy, brown sugar, tobacco leaf and smoked wood.
Full and complex. With an explosion of sweet flavours wrapped in a racy acidity. Dryness in a long and fresh finish.
Excellent as a digestif, also pairs well with strong cheese.
