VINEYARDS AND VINIFICATION

Grapes from various quality vineyards of Seixal.
Grapes were pressed in a continuous press. Arresting of fermentation takes place at the desired degree of sweetness by adding vinic alcohol (96%).

LOT

Since March of 1989 this Frasqueira has been aging for twenty years in old French oak casks by the traditional canteiro system in moderate temperatures. When the wine reached the maximum sugar levels allowed for a Sercial, it was transferred to demijohns in March 2009. Time did it’s work to balance out this wine, giving it a light delicate sweetness at the beginning of the tasting and a long refreshing acidity at the end of the mouth.
We bottled 600 bottles of 750 ml and 300 bottles 500 ml all individually numbered.

SERVING & CELLARAGE

Madeira wine should be kept vertically and in cool dry place. Serve best 16oC or low room temperature 18oC. It will last and maintain in good condition several months once opened.

TASTING NOTES

Bright tawny colour.
Nutty and almonds hints, Caramel, woody, varnish and spices. Very consistent and clean, sweetie overtaken by the freshness at the end.
Excellent as an aperitif.
