DENOMINATION
Madeira D.O.P
GRAPE VARIETIES
Malvasia Cândida
VINEYARDS
Grapes from Fajã dos Padres, South Coast of Madeira Island. The must was obtained through foot treading. Arresting of fermentation takes place at the desired degree of sweetness by adding vinic alcohol (96%).
LOT
Since 1921, this is the first controlled bottling made with its roots in Fajã dos Padres, a unique property, in Madeira. Among the few existing casks in the old Canteiro warehouse of Fajã dos Padres, we have selected this Malvasia 1986. As a result of the aging in American oak casks, with capacity for 800 liters, this wine went through a continuous and high concentration throughout the years, which is reflected in its intense and dark colour that is accompanied by an elegant acidity in the end of the mouth. This wine originated a set of 654 bottles, all of them individually numbered.
