Malvasia
VINEYARDS AND VINIFICATION
Grapes from São Jorge and Fajã dos Padres (20%). The must was obtained through foot treading. Arresting of fermentation takes place at the desired degree of sweetness by adding vinic alcohol (96%).
LOT
In 2001, Ricardo Diogo produced his first 20 years old Malvasia. This is his eighth blend since then but, he always faces a great challenge when the time comes to produce another lot as it requires much reflection. The ending of some of these old wines represent the birth of others which is the case of this 20 year old Malvasia lot 14050, aged in French oak casks by canteiro process. This lush wine has a moderate impact on the nose followed by an explosion of elegant flavours where the long acidity at the end of the mouth really stands out. We bottled 1.061 units, all individually numbered.
