Grapes from various quality vineyards located in São Jorge in the north coast. Grapes were pressed in a continuous press.
LOT
This Colheita 2001, Single Cask 719, began aging at the Afonso (d) warehouse and since 2008 has been aging in the warehouse at the new winery (e). We were able to buy grapes with the ideal maturation according to Barbeito wine making philosophy in which the initial acidity plays a very important role in the development of the wine along its aging process by the Canteiro method. This Malvasia is very elegant and has the usual acidity that we value so much in our wines. In April 2015, 1137 bottles have been filled, all individually numbered.

This wine was filtered and does not require decanting; it will last and maintain in good condition several months once opened.
TASTING NOTES
Gold with green tinges. Candied fruit notes, honey, waxy, ripe citrus and dried heather in a smoked background. Luscious savors and engaging, very round acidity in a long, smooth and refreshing finish.
Excellent as a digestif, pairs well with passion fruit pudding, chocolate and fruit sponge cake
